How do I make my first clip?
- Sign in to the iPhone app, or go to web.fastclips.app on a phone or computer.
- Import a video. Paste a YouTube link or an X post link, or upload a video file. On iPhone, you can also share a link or a video to FastClip from another app.
- Open the video and pick a moment. Set the start and the end on the timelines. For YouTube links, you can also select the words in the transcript.
- Tap Make clip to create a draft clip and open it, or Clip & stay to create it and keep choosing moments. FastClip transcribes the clip, adds captions, and writes a title and a description. You can edit all of them.
- Finish the clip. FastClip renders the final video.
- Post the clip to a connected X or Instagram account, or download it.
On iPhone, you can mark a moment while a video plays. Say “Save this moment in FastClip” to Siri. FastClip saves a bookmark at that point.
Before your first import, FastClip asks you to confirm two things. First, that you own the video or have permission to use it. Second, that FastClip can send it to the providers that transcribe it and write the text. See What can I import? and How does FastClip use my data?
How do I sign in?
- Sign in with Apple works in the iPhone app. You can share your email or hide it. If you hide it, Apple gives FastClip a private relay address that forwards email to you.
- Google works in the iPhone app, on mobile web and on desktop web.
- Email and password works only for accounts that the FastClip team set up with a password. You cannot create an account with a password.
Use the same sign-in method each time. A different method can open a different, empty account. For example, Sign in with Apple with a hidden email does not match your Google account.
To sign out, open Settings and tap Sign out.
How do I connect or disconnect X and Instagram?
Connect an account to post clips to it directly from FastClip:
- Open Settings.
- In Social accounts, tap Add social account.
- Tap Connect X or Connect Instagram.
- Sign in to that account and allow access.
Instagram lets apps post only to professional accounts (Creator or Business). Switch your account type in the Instagram app first if you need to.
To disconnect, open Settings. Next to the account, tap the unlink button, then tap it again to confirm. FastClip can then no longer post to that account. You can also remove FastClip in the connected apps settings of X or Instagram.
What does the free plan include?
FastClip is free, with no credit card. The free plan gives you these totals. They do not renew each month.
- 50 YouTube or upload imports
- 50 X imports
- Google Drive files with no total limit (20 a day)
- 100 draft clips
- 100 finished clips
- $5 of AI writing each month (titles, descriptions, suggestions)
- 1 direct post to X and 1 direct post to Instagram; download finished clips for everything else
Daily limits also apply: 50 draft clips and 30 finished clips per day. Clips have no FastClip watermark.
Need more? Email anatolii@fastclip.it and tell us what you make. We arrange more capacity by email. The iPhone app has no purchases.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account in the iPhone app or on the web. Deletion is permanent. You cannot undo it.
- Sign in to FastClip.
- Open Settings.
- Scroll to the Account section.
- Tap Delete account, then confirm.
Deleting the iPhone app from your phone does not delete your account.
Remove only a connected X or Instagram account
You do not need to delete your FastClip account to remove a social account. Open Settings. Next to the account, tap the unlink button, then tap it again to confirm. FastClip deletes its access token for that account and can no longer post to it. To also revoke access on the platform side, remove FastClip in Instagram (Settings, then Website permissions or Apps and websites) or in X (Settings, then Security and account access, then Apps and sessions).
What we delete
- Your account and all its sign-in sessions.
- Your sources, draft clips, finished clips and templates.
- The access tokens for the X and Instagram accounts you connected.
- Your device reports and your support chat.
- Stored media that only your account uses.
- An active paid subscription. We cancel it.
Clips that you already posted to X or Instagram stay on those platforms. Delete them there.
What we keep
- Your email address on a suppression list, so we never email you again.
- Limited billing records that tax and accounting law requires us to keep. Stripe, our payment processor, keeps its own records.
- Server logs, until they expire on their normal schedule.
- Copies of support messages and activity alerts that already reached the FastClip team through Telegram.
If you cannot sign in
Email anatolii@fastclip.it from the email address of your FastClip account and ask us to delete it. If you used Sign in with Apple and hid your email, tell us your private relay address. You can find it in your Apple Account settings, under Sign in with Apple.
How does FastClip use my data?
FastClip uses your data to run the service. We do not sell your personal information.
To make clips, FastClip sends the audio of your videos to Deepgram for transcription. It sends transcripts and other text to OpenAI and Anthropic to write titles, captions and descriptions. These providers process the data on our behalf to provide the service. The app asks for your agreement before your first import.
Read the full privacy policy.
What can I import?
FastClip imports YouTube links, X post links and video files.
Import only videos that you own or have permission to use. For example: your own podcast, a show that hired you, or a clipping program in which the creator lets clippers use the footage. A public video does not give you that permission.
You are responsible for what you import and post. When a rights holder sends us a valid notice, we remove the content. To report content, email anatolii@fastclip.it.
Read the terms of service.
How do I connect an AI agent?
Claude Code, Codex and Cursor can import videos and make clips in your account. You connect each one with a token.
- Sign in to FastClip in the web app or the iPhone app. Open Settings and choose Connect an agent. That opens the Agents page.
- Name the token, for example Claude Code, and choose Create token. Copy it at once. FastClip shows it only one time.
- Copy the setup for your agent from the same page. Run it in a terminal, or add it to the agent’s settings file. The AI agents page lists the commands.
An app that adds a custom MCP server by its address connects with a sign-in instead, with no token. In Claude on the web or in the desktop app, ChatGPT in developer mode, or Grok, add https://api.fastclip.it/mcp and sign in to FastClip when the app asks. We have not yet tested this from those apps. To disconnect one, open Settings, then Agents, and choose Disconnect next to it.
To revoke a token, open Settings, then Agents, and choose Revoke next to it. The agent that uses the token loses access at once. You can have up to 10 tokens.
A token lets one agent import videos, read transcripts and make clips in your account. It cannot post, change your settings or delete anything. Anyone who has the token can use your plan until you revoke it, so keep it private.
The clips and imports an agent makes count toward your plan, the same as the ones you make yourself. See What does the free plan include?
